Improv Theatre and the Workplace
Subramanian Kalpathi has been an improviser with Improv Comedy Mumbai and has attended a number of workshops with Theatre Professionals between 2013 and 2015.
He did his BE and MBA and decided to also dabble in professional theatre. “This was purely out of curiosity. Little did I know then that improv would help me see and experience the world around me in an entirely new light. It helped me explore my creative side and over time, helped improve my self-confidence.”, he says.
Subramanian is currently the Senior Director & leads the KNOLSKAPE Insights Centre. He believes that participating in the performing arts has made him a better listener, a crucial skill in the workplace. We share an excerpt from his book, ‘The Millennials Exploring the world of the largest living generation’, about how improv theatre can be beneficial in an organisational setup.
