Tasneem Fatehi

Tasneem has worked in Theatre and Education for over 20 years as a Theatre Educator, an Arts Manager, a Children’s Theatre Director, and a Creative Producer.

She set up an After School Drama Institute in Speech, Drama and Performance Arts in 2002. In the decade that she ran the institute, she worked with thousands of students and directed several plays for children. The institute also worked with several schools including regional language schools using Drama to teach Spoken English.

She went on to found Theatre Professionals Pvt. Ltd. with Jehan Manekshaw in 2008, where she started as the Program Head on the Acting Workshops Program and the Intensive Drama Program – programs that served as the template for founding the Drama School Mumbai.

Tasneem has taught Drama in several IB, IGCSE and National Curriculum schools in Mumbai and Directed and Produced Annual Days at schools across India. She is now a Teacher Trainer, empowering teachers across the country to use Drama as a pedagogical tool in the classroom to enhance learning.

She currently heads Theatre Professionals Education. She is a Core Content team member, and mentors in-house Drama Teachers and Theatre Directors working with children. She has co-designed the flagship two-year Using Drama for Learning Program for Primary Teachers for the company.

Tasneem has a B.A. in English Literature from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and an ATCL from the Trinity College of London. She has trained in Augusto Boal’s ‘Theatre of the Oppressed’ under Marc Weinblatt from Washington, USA. and in Theatre Facilitation with Roo Jhala (Oxford School of Drama) among several other Theatre Workshops with leading Theatre Practitioners from around the world.

When she’s not busy seeing that every school’s academic and teaching needs are being met, Tasneem finds time to step into the classroom and stay connected with what she loves best: Teaching Drama.
